The compression wave source equipment is composed of a plate and a short rod, which receives the hammer blow and transmits it to the plate. To be effective, the plate must be deployed according to specific instructions that are discussed in detail during the training on the SPDMT equipment. 

Important Note: If the plate is not deployed correctly, the compression wave may be not generated properly and the interpretation of the  velocity Vp may be difficult or impossible.
