The 1 m rods with ɸext 50 mm are used for both Torpedo and Sciacca configuration for DMT and SDMT testing with a drill rig. Usually three (or also five) rods are used for the Torpedo method. The Sciacca method instead requires as many rods as the maximum test depth. The rods connect directly to the upper adaptors adaptors (both Torpedo and Sciacca) and to the lower adaptors to the DMT or SDMT. Rod Nipples are required for connecting every two rods. The required nipples are one unit less than the number of rods.
