You may Submit data even if Check Data is not satisfied
Non geotechnical web-related tips
-To move, use only TAB or Mouse (do not use Enter, equivalent to Submit)
-The initial five fields are descriptive headings. They may contain any text wished, in any wished order.
-To go back to the form - after Submit - you may use (1) Go back to form (in the Receipt) or (2) Go back in the toolbar of the browser (in this case the form will reappear with the previous data - useful to enter tests after the first one).
-It is advisable to "Save" the Receipt to have the data in digital form in case the e-transmission crashes (in such event, re-transmit such Receipt).
Main Variables
GAMMA top | = | Average natural unit weight of the soil between Ground Surface and Zinitial (Zinitial = Z of the first DMT readings), normalized to Gamwater. Normal Gamtop values = 1.6 to 2.2. |
Z | = | Depth below Ground Surface. In Offshore tests, Z is depth below Seabottom. |
Zwater | = | Depth below Ground Surface of water table. In offshore tests the water table is above Ground Surface (=Seabottom), hence Zwater is negative. E.g. if waterheight=8m, Zwater=-8. If "water is absent" (in the sense that water is deeper than testing depth), don't input Zwater=0 (it would be interpreted as Watertable = Ground Surface) but input any depth Zwater > Zfinal. |
Advanced Variables
Zabs | = | Absolute elevation of Ground Surface. Permits (in the subsequent programs) to write in the Z scale absolute elevations instead of depths below Ground Surface. In absence of such need, or if unknown, Zabs is input as 0. (The above form defaults to : Zabs=0). |
Zm | = | Zero of the gage ZM (gage reading when vented to atmospheric pressure). However Zm in general must be input as 0. In fact, since Delta A & DeltaB - with present equipment - are measured with the same gage used for reading A & B, ZM is also contained in Delta A & Delta B. This results in a compensation. Conclusion : set Zm =0. (The above form defaults to : Zm=0). |
